I'm sorry, but I have to disagree as strongly as possible with some of the other comments.
I have seen articles in Cycle World, Motorcyclist, and Motorcycle Consumer News in which the authors asked the oil companies to provide data to prove that motorcycle oil is better than automotive oil - none were able to do so. Take a look at your owner's manual: it says nothing about the Savage needing special oil. Indeed, the Savage is a very "low tech" air-cooled, low compression engine that doesn't have any need for special oils or treatments.
"Motorcycle specific" oil is a marketing scam, plain and simple - in fact, in most places outside of North America and the USA, "motorcycle specific" oil is not even sold.
I've used Castrol 10w40 GTX oil in all my vehicles for years, and have never had any engine or transmission problems. Don't waste your money!
